Good Bye Blogging!

Ich habe die Entscheidung lange aufgeschoben, nun ist es aber soweit: ich höre mit dem Bloggen aus. Zumindest mache ich eine lange Pause, und wenn die Lust wiederkommen sollte, blogge ich einfach weiter. Das war nämlich das Problem: ich hatte keinen Spaß am Fotos machen (miese Kamera), und zum Posten musste ich mich auch immer erst aufraffen. Und etwas, das ich freiwillig in meiner Freizeit tue, sollte ich schon genießen. Natürlich werde ich weiterhin Blogs lesen und auch nicht "verlottern" in meinem Stil - aber jetzt sind die Outfits erstmal nicht mehr im Internet zu lesen.
Ganz zweieinhalb Jahre habe ich hier gebloggt, fast meine ganze Studienzeit lang. Hier noch ein paar unveröffentlichte Outfits, auf meiner Festplatte sind noch viel mehr! Vielen Dank fürs Lesen und die Treue!

I postponed this decision for a very long time, but not anymore: I'm going to stop blogging. At least I'll have a long break, and if I feel like it again, I'll just continue blogging. This was my problem: I didn't enjoy taking pictures (crappy camera) and always had to force myself to post them. And I should enjoy doing what I do in my free time, shouldn't I! Of course I'll continue to read blogs and I won't go to rack and ruin with my style - my outfits just won't be online anymore.
I blogged for two and a half years here, almost during all my studies. Here are some unpublished outfits, there are many more on my hard drive! Thanks for reading.

Am Samstag habe ich meine letzte Klausur in meinem BA-Studium, bis dahin heißt es fleißig lernen und das Gelernte wiederholen. Heute wurde der neue Rock zum ersten Mal in der Öffentlichkeit getragen, nur mit der Tomatensoße in der Mensa musste ich sehr vorsichtig sein!

Heut habe ich den größten Teil meines Tages auf dem Reiterhof verbracht: Pferde reinholen, Kinder unterrichten und selber reiten standen auf dem Programm. Das und Lernen für die Klausur nächste Woche hat meinen Sonntag gut gefüllt, und ich starte erholt in die nächste Woche.
Das Outfit ist (offensichtlich) mal wieder etwas älter.

Today I spent most of my time at the stable, teaching children how to ride and riding myself. This and learning for the exam next week filled my sunday nicely, and I'll start relaxed into next week.

Nice Gifts Are Nice Pt. 3

Diese Tasche habe ich vor bestimmt 4 oder 5 Jahren von meiner Mutti bekommen (sie hatte sie auch geschenkt bekommen). Ich habe sie lange getragen, aber in den letzten zwei Jahren vernachlässigt. Jetzt habe ich sie wieder hervorgegraben und kann kaum verstehen, warum ich sie so lange nicht benutzt habe. Es passt ein A4-Ordner rein (perfekt also für die Uni) und alles andere, was man tagsüber einfach so braucht (Wasserflasche, Kalender, Stullen).

I got this bag 4 or 5 years ago from my mum (and she got it from someone as well). I used it a long time, but ignored it in the past 2 years. Now I dug it out of the back of my collection again and can't really understand, why I didn't use it for so long. An A4-folder fits in there (so perfect for uni) and everything else, you need during the day (bottle of water, calendar, sandwiches).

Am Montag habe ich (mal wieder) meinen Kleiderschrank aussortiert und aufgeräumt. Dabei ist mir dieser lange vergessene Rock in die Hände gefallen. Ich habe ihn glaube ich vor zwei Jahren genäht und nur ein- oder zweimal angehabt. Das wird sich hoffentlich ändern!

On monday I cleared up my closet (again). While doing this I found a skirt, which was completely forgotten until that point. I think I made it two years ago and have just worn it once or twice until then. I hope that's going to change!

Ich bin so glücklich darüber, wie meine Haare zur Zeit aussehen: ich finde den Pony toll und die Tatsache, dass sie zu den Enden hin heller werden, so wollte ich sie schon seit Ewigkeiten haben! Außerdem wachsen sie langsam zu einer tollen Länge heran. Ach je, ich bin schon ein Mädchen.

I'm so happy about the way my hair looks at the moment: I like the fringe and the fact, that it gets lighter towards the ends, I always wanted to have them like that! And they're steadily growing to a pretty length. Oh well, I'm such a girl.

Second Hand Shopping

Heute habe ich es endlich in den Second-Hand-Laden geschafft, bevor der Winterschlussverkauf vorüber ist. Second-Hand-Läden sind ja eh immer günstig, aber im Sale schließlich noch günstiger. Zwei kleine Schätze habe ich auch gefunden: zum einen diesen cremefarbenen Wollrock.

Today I finally made it into a second hand store, before the winter sale is over. Second hand shops are always cheap, but even cheaper during the sale, after all. I found two little gems: one of them is this creme coloured woollen skirt.

Das Etikett sagt, dass er ein Werk aus dem Hause Escada ist. Ich glaub nicht so ganz dran und, na ja, mir ist es eh egal.

The label says it's a creation from Escada. I don't really believe that, and I don't care, anyways.

Zum zweiten einen tollen Gürtel, dessen Farbe eigentlich koralle ist...kommt auf dem Foto nicht optimal rüber.

The other thing I found is this great belt, which is actually coral...the picture doesn't give the right impression, colour-wise.

My New Bike!

Seit gestern habe ich endlich wieder ein Fahrrad! Meines wurde ja geklaut und seitdem war ich auf die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel angewiesen. Mein neues Rad gehörte mal meiner Omi. 1967 hat sie es bestellt, um damit meine kleine Tante im Korb durch die Stadt zu transportieren. Sogar meine Mutti hat dieses Fahrrad schon benutzt. Und es fährt immer noch! Ich bin sehr stolz, so eine geschichtsträchtige Mühle fahren zu dürfen.

Since yesterday I have a bike again! Mine was stolen and I was dependent on public transport since then. My new bike belonged to my grand-ma. She ordered it 1967 to transport my little aunt in a basket with it. Even my mum used it. And it's still good to ride! I'm very proud to ride such a history-charged bicycle.

Heute hatte ich zwei Bewerbungsgespräche für Praktikumsstellen, und da will man ja weder altbacken noch unseriös wirken, vor allem im Medienbereich. Das Schwalbenkleid fand ich mehr als passend, und ich fühle mich darin wohl - ein nicht zu unterschätzender Faktor!

Heute gibt's wieder einmal ein "älteres" Outfit. Den Cardigan habe ich vor Jahren auf dem Dresdner Trödelmarkt erstanden, das Kleid habe ich auch schon ein kleines Weilchen. Ich versuche immer wieder alte Kleidungsstücke wiederzuentdecken, vergleichbar mit Shopping im eigenen Schrank.

Ich bin wahrscheinlich eine der Letzten, die der gesamten Bloggerwelt ein gutes neues Jahr wünscht - aber besser spät als nie.
Samstag kam ich aus London wieder und habe die Zeit (wie immer) sehr genossen. Es ist nicht so einfach, sich wieder in den Uni- und Arbeitsalltag einzufinden. Auch das Fotografieren klappte noch nicht so ganz heute morgen, die meisten Bilder waren schrecklich verwackelt...

I guess I'm one of the last to wish the whole blogger world a happy new year, but better too late than never.
I came back from London on saturday and I did enjoy the time there very much (as always). It's hard to find my way back into the uni- and working life. Even taking pictures didn't work out that well this morning, most of the pictures were horribly blurry...

Heute abend geht es ins Kino zu "Rapunzel - Neu verföhnt". Als großer Disney-Fan bin ich überzeugt, dass ich den Film sehr gut finden werde.
Das Kleid habe ich im Sommer angehabt, als man so etwas noch anziehen konnte ohne Daunenjacke.

Tonight I'll be at the cinema to watch "Rapunzel". As I'm a big Disney fan I'm convinced I'll enjoy myself very much during the film.

Flowers And Plissé

Gestern war also das Weihnachtsreiten von unserem Stall. Wie schon mal erwähnt, haben ein paar Freunde und ich Ringstechen gemacht, mit Kostümen und allem drum und dran. Ich war die Prinzessin, die es von den Prinzen zu erobern galt. Es hat alles geklappt und kam auch gut an beim Publikum. Danach war noch Weihnachtsfeier im Stall-eigenen Restaurant. Ein sehr schöner Tag, alles in allem!

So yesterday the christmas riding in my stable took place. As I mentioned before, friends and I did ring jousting, with costumes and everything. I was the princess the knights had to fight for! Everything went well and the audience liked it. Afterwards we had a christmas party in the restaurant that belongs to the stable. All in all, a really nice day!

School Girl

Gestern abend war ich beim Konzert im Leipziger Gewandhaus. Ein bunter Mix aus allem wurde aufgeführt: die Thomaner waren da ebenso wie das Jugendsinfonie-Orchester der Leipziger Musikschule und das Gewandhausorchester, Jazz und Musical wurden auch gezeigt. Es war wirklich schön!
Das schulmädchenhafte Outfit hier stammt von letzter Woche.

Yesterday evening I went to a concert in the Gewandhaus in Leipzig. A mix of everything was performed: the Thomaner choir was there as well as the youth symphony orchestra of Leipzig's music school and the Gewandhaus orchestra, jazz and musical was shown. It was so nice!

Heute ging es wieder zur Uni und zur Arbeit. Was soll ich sagen - ein typischer Montag eben! Ich habe angefangen, mich für Praktikumsplätze zu bewerben. Im März habe ich meinen Abschluss und muss dann die Zeit bis zum Wintersemester, wenn alle Master-Studiengänge starten, (sinnvoll) überbrücken.

Heute fahre ich nach Dresden, um zur Einweihungsfeier einer Freundin zu fahren. Ich kenne sie schon seit der 1. Klasse und es wird schön sein, sie wieder zu sehen. Heute vormittag haben wir auch Generalprobe vom Weihnachtsreiten vom Stall, ich mache beim Ringstechen mit (wie damals bei den Rittern) und heute wollen wir mal probieren, wie die Pferde auf Musik und kreischende Leute reagieren. Gestern habe ich meine BA-Arbeit abgegeben! Und eigentlich sollte dann abends Aidan nach Leipzig kommen...eigentlich. Der Schnee hatte den ganzen Zugverkehr in London lahmgelegt, und so kam er nicht rechtzeitig zum Flughafen. Heute wird ein neuer Versuch gestartet...und bis dahin gehe ich arbeiten, um mich abzulenken.

Yesterday I handed in my final thesis! And actually Aidan wanted to come to Leipzig in the evening...actually. The snow made all the trains in London stop and he couldn't get to the airport in time. Today, he's having a new try...and until then I'll go to work, to distract myself.

Am Wochenende war ich zum Geburtstag in der Sächsischen Schweiz. Wir haben in einem Wellness-Hotel mit drei Saunen gewohnt, die wir auch gleich genutzt haben. Es war wirklich schön, meine Familie ist halt ein sehr lustiger Haufen.
Heute ging der Alltag weiter - am Donnerstag ist Bachelor-Arbeits-Abgabe!

Manchmal stolpere ich über längst vergessene Teile, wenn ich meinen Kleiderschrank aufräume. So wie dieser Mantel von Vero Moda. Ich habe ihn mal im Sale für 10 € gekauft, ihn exzessiv Wochen danach getragen und dann weggehängt, weil er für das kalte Wetter nicht warm genug war. Da hing er dann zwei Jahre lang. Und jetzt ist er wieder zu dünn (für minus 7 Grad). Aber nächstes Jahr, da ziehe ich ihn wieder an!

Sometimes I stumble upon forgotten things when I tidy up my closet, like this coat from Vero Moda. I bought it in the sale for 10 €, wore it excessively weeks after that and then hung it away, because it wasn't warm enough for the cold weather. It hung for two years. And now it's too thin, again (at least for minus 7 degrees). But I surely will wear it next year!

Der heutige Tag war wieder vollgepackt: Kolloquium, Hausarbeits-Treffen, Bachelor-Arbeit, Bürgeramt, usw. Obwohl ich morgens nicht viel Zeit hatte, da ich schon um 7 Uhr zu einer Vertragsunterzeichnung musste, habe ich mein ursprüngliches Outfit komplett umgeworfen und mich für das entschieden - man soll schließlich immer auf sein Gefühl hören, auch bei so etwas eher unwichtigem wie Klamotten.

Today's day was packed again: colloquium, meeting for an essay, final dissertation, citizen centre etc. Even though I didn't have a lot of time in the morning as I had to be at a contract signing at 7 am, I completely changed my outfit again. Rosa Long-Shirt von Vero Moda für 8 €. Ein schönes unkompliziertes Teil - zu Jeans oder Rock tragen, schon sieht man 'angezogen' aus.

Pink Longshirt from Vero Moda for 8 €. A nice and uncomplicated item - wear it to jeans or a skirt and you look 'dressed'.

Weißes Kleid, auch von Vero Moda, für 15 €. Ich bin immer auf der Suche nach weißen Kleidern, leider sind diese meist durchsichtig. Das hier nicht, und darüber bin ich sehr froh! Auf dem Foto sieht es ein wenig zerknüllt aus, nächste Woche gibt's aber eh ein Outfit damit!

Heute hat es den ganzen Tag in einer Tour geregnet, sodass man wenig Lust hatte, unnötigerweise ins Freie zu gehen. Zum Lebensmittelkaufen mussten Aidan und ich uns dann aber doch rausbequemen und haben die Gelegenheit genutzt, meine neuen Winterschuhe zu fotografieren.

Because the charger for my camera is still in Leipzig and so the battery needs to last until the end of next week I decided to stop here. Not much, except for a second walk with the dog, happened anyway.

Da ich hier zumeist in Jeans und T-Shirt rumlaufe, werdet ihr in den nächsten Tagen viele alte Outfits zu Gesicht bekommen: das hier habe ich letzten Freitag zum Arbeiten getragen. Ich in Jeans! Das lag aber vor allem daran, dass ich danach direkt in den Stall gefahren bin und dann einfach die Hose gegen meine Reithose tauschen konnte.

Dinner In The Dark

Was für ein Samstag! Ich bin nach Berlin gefahren und hab mich dort mit einer Freundin getroffen zum Kaffee, Flohmarkt und Nachmittags-Party. Anschließend ging es mit meiner Ma, Schwester und deren Freund ins Nocti Vagus, einem Dunkelrestaurant. Man sitzt in kompletter Dunkelheit, wo man von blinden Kellnern bedient wird und versucht, zu essen, was man nicht sehen kann. Ein wahres Erlebnis in jeder Hinsicht und nur empfehlenswert!

What a saturday! I went to Berlin to meet a friend for coffee, flea market and afternoon party. Afterwards I went to Nocti Vagus, a dark restaurant, with my mum, sister and her boyfriend. You sit in complete darkness, where you are served by blind waiters and try to eat what you can't see. A great experience in every sense.

In letzter Zeit hatte ich meine Brille sträflich vernachlässigt und beschlossen, sie heute mal wieder auszuführen. Ich war wieder arbeiten, nachdem ich meine Schicht in der einen Filiale beendet hatte bin ich gleich weiter zur nächsten...dementsprechend steht heute auch nur DVD-Gucken auf dem Plan.

Autumn Arrived

Jetzt ist auch hier der Herbst eingetroffen - es regnet immer wieder und der Himmel ist wolkenverhangen. Auf Arbeit habe ich davon wenig mitbekommen, aber wenn ich gleich zum Reiten fahre, werde ich mir eine Jacke mehr anziehen. Ich finde den Herbst herrlich - ich liebe es, wenn einem der Wind um die Ohren pfeift, es nicht mehr so heiß ist, man sich schön einmummeln kann. Und eine Tasse Tee schmeckt nun einmal am besten, wenn man durchgefroren zuhause angekommen ist.

Autumn arrived here as well - it's rainy and the sky is full of clouds. I didn't really notice it at work, but soon, when I'm cycling to the stable, I'll wear one jumper more than usual. I find autumn amazing - I love it, when the wind is blowing around your ears, when it's not that hot anymore, when you can wear layers of clothes. And a cup of tea tastes best when you arrived at home chilled to the bone.

Minnie Mouse And Thrillers

Seit heute nachmittag bin ich wieder Mitglied der Stadtbibliothek. Ich war es leid, meine Bücher mehrmals zu lesen, kann mir es aber nicht leisten, jede Woche ein neues Buch (vorzugsweise Krimi) zu kaufen. Seit heute nachmittag lese ich auch schon und bin bei Seite 378. Ich liebe es, mich in eine Geschichte reinzulesen und völlig die Zeit zu vergessen. Wenn mich jemand mitten im Lesen anspricht, braucht ich auch immer ein paar Sekunden, ehe ich in die Wirklichkeit zurückkehren kann.

Since this afternoon I'm a member of the public library again. I didn't like reading my books several times, but can't afford to buy a new book (preferably thrillers) every week. Since this afternoon I've been reading and reached page 378 already. I love to start a new story and to completely forget the time. If someons talks to me while I'm reading I always need a few seconds to come back to reality.

Heute gibt's nichts spannendes zu erzählen (als ob ich jemals wirklich etwas spannendes zu erzählen gehabt hätte!), ich war in der Bibliothek und beim Reiten. Dadurch, dass ich es nicht mehr gewohnt bin, bin ich fix und alle und werd mich jetzt bei meinem Mitbewohner vor den Fernseher hauen...einen schönen Montagabend euch!

Pearlfection

Vor ein paar Wochen habe ich einen Gutschein für Pearlfection bekommen - da ich zwischendurch in England war und nicht wollte, dass das Paket dann nicht angenommen werden kann, habe ich erst letzte Woche bestellt. Falls ihr noch nicht davon gehört habt: das ist eine Internetseite, bei der man mit einem Design-Tool seinen eigenen Schmuck zusammenstellen kann. Das Ganze wird dann angefertigt und einem zugeschickt.

A couple of weeks ago I got a voucher for Pearlfection - because I was in England for quite a time I just placed the order last week, as I didn't want the parcel to be returned because no one could accept it. If you haven't heard of it: it's a website where you can create your own jewellery with a design tool. Everything is made for you and shipped to you then.

Bei mir kamen die Ketten schon innerhalb von drei Tagen an - das nenn ich fix! Ich war nicht allzu kreativ und hab mit zweimal die gleiche Kette gemacht, nur in unterschiedlichen Farbtönen. Einmal in rosa...

I received the necklaces within three days - that's what I call quick! I wasn't too creative and made the same necklace twice, just in different colours. One in pink...

...und einmal in blau. Perlen kann man sowieso immer tragen und mit der Blumen-Perle in der Mitte werden die Ketten noch ein bisschen interessanter. Mir gefällt's und ich kann Pearlfection reinen Gewissens empfehlen.

Irgendwie scheint mir bei diesem Rock zuerst der Leo-Schal als passendes Accessoire einzufallen - genau die beiden habe ich schon einmal zusammen getragen. Dazu ein farbiges T-Shirt und schwarze Strumpfhosen, fertig.
Jetzt geht's reiten, ich freu mich schon!

Coming Back

Nach kleiner Pause bin ich also wieder zurück. Ich bin zwar bereits Montag nach Leipzig gekommen, die Tage seither waren aber meist so voll, dass ich abends nur noch schlafen wollte und nicht noch Posts schreiben.
Berlin war toll, auch wenn ich es geschafft habe, kein einziges Foto zu schießen. Dafür habe ich mir einen Sonnenbrand geholt - super Sache, vor allem im Gesicht!
Das Outfit ist noch von letzter Woche, ohne rote Birne.

So, after a short break I'm back. Even I did come back on monday already, my days were so full that I just wanted to go to sleep when I came home and didn't want to write any posts.
Berlin was great, even though I managed to not take any pictures at all. But I did get sunburnt - a fantastic thing, especially in the face!

World Championships

Das Wochenende (einschließlich Montag früh) werde ich in Berlin sein, zur Weltmeisterschaft im Bike Polo. Da Aidans Team mitmacht, ist es für mich als treue Freundin natürlich Pflicht, mit dabei zu sein. Euch ein tolles Wochenende!

I'll spend the weekend (including monday morning) at the world championships in Bike Polo in Berlin. Because Aidan's team takes part, it's a duty for me as a loyal girlfriend to watch it. Have a grat weekend everyone!

New Loan Horse

Gestern bin ich nach der Arbeit zum Stall gefahren: Vorreiten für eine neue Reitbeteiligung stand an der Tagesordnung. Es hat auch soweit alles gut geklappt (mit ein paar Schnitzern, natürlich) und jetzt habe ich eine neue Reitbeteiligung! Ich freue mich sehr darüber, habe ich das Reiten doch ganz schön vermisst.

Yesterday I went to the stable after work: I rode a horse I want to take care for in the future. It worked out fine (even though I made a few mistakes) and now there is a new loan horse in my life! I'm very happy about that, especially because I missed riding a lot.
